Poem: Theme for English B

When I read the poem I had a bad sensation because it reflects a true reality. I could infer that the author was really sad of being discriminated by his skin color. As we all know, black people always had been discriminated, white people do not accept that those people have the same rights than them.
I think that we have to respect all kind of people because everybody is equal. My dad always tells me: From the diversity we have to learn and grow.

This part is so special for me:

I guess being colored doesn't make me NOT like
the same things other folks like who are other races.
So will my page be colored that I write?

With this stanza, I can, for a moment, realize what the author feels, I can see his pain because he feels different, but is really bad to be different? I think that if the people are all equal, with the same language, or the same skin color, the life would be boring.

Finally I want to write this stanza:
As I learn from you,
I guess you learn from me---
although you're older---and white---
and somewhat more free.

I believe that black and white people together have to be a complement for living and we to learn about "different people" from me.
